Factors influencing parental pregnancy decision-making due to fetuses with non-syndromic orofacial clefts: a study of Chinese couples

Background: When a fetus is diagnosed with facial deformities, most Chinese couples choose to terminate the pregnancy. However, these commonly regret their decision after termination of pregnancy, display heavier degree grief, and feelings persist for long time. The purpose this study was investigate factors that influence parental pregnancy decisions regarding fetuses non-syndromic orofacial cleft (NSOFC), provide preliminary basis formulation interview outlines useful in further qualitative research area. Methods: We collected medical records 400 from obstetrical units women’s hospital China whose were Orofacial clefts (OFCs) January 2013 July 2019. After excluding those reporting chromosomal or other abnormalities, 311 cases included study. univariate analysis, may have affected analyzed using binary classification regression analysis.
